The Joshua Camp is both a training event and an outreach experience. The camp hopes to bring together up to 600 people (18+) from all around Great Britain and the World!
After an initial training time at the Camp, the participants will take part in 8 days of service and outreach projects throughout London/Brentwood area.
Training: For the first three days at the start of the Camp there will be time for you to connect with God and each other. There will also be an orientation to the cultural context in which you will be sharing your faith and some basic training in evangelisation for those who are less experienced. Teams will also have time to prepare for the outreach/service they will be involved in and there will be times of worship and celebration.
Outreach: For the next eight days the teams will be sent out to various Churches/venues in and around London to serve at various outreach/service projects. To read more about what we might be doing visit the Outreachpage.
Community: If you have been to World Youth Day or on pilgrimage to Lourdes or elsewhere, you will know what a great sense of Community you will experience at an International event like this. You will make firm friends with the team you come with and work alongside, but also have the opportunity to make new friends from across the country and the world!
Prayer: There will be plenty of space at The Joshua Camp, whether during the training or the outreach days, to take quality time with God, to allow Him to minister to you and speak to your heart. We will celebrate Mass each day, and have communal times of worship, but also personal adoration and times for reconciliation will be available.
London Olympics: The Joshua Camp is located 20 minutes walk from the site of the Olympic Village and all the action! There will be a great party atmosphere in the city which you will enjoy throughout the Outreach days, there will also be a day off for your team during these 8 days for you to visit London or enjoy what you would like to!
